What's a Supermoon? Understanding the Phenomenon
A Supermoon occurs when the moon is at its closest position to Earth while being full. This particular alignment enlarges the moon by about 17% and boosts its brightness significantly, making it a prime celestial highlight for astronomers and casual stargazers alike. According to NASA, during the Beaver Moon, the moon will be approximately 221,817 miles away from Earth.

On November 5, 2025, the Beaver Moon will reach its peak at precisely 8:19 AM, but it will appear to be full to the naked eye for three evenings:
- November 4: Moonrise at 4:56 PM (97.4% full)
- November 5: Moonrise at 5:36 PM (100% full)
- November 6: Moonrise at 6:25 PM (99.3% full)
If your view is blocked by trees or tall buildings, be patient! Wait a bit longer, and the moon will climb higher in the sky, providing an unimpeded view.
