Affordable Adventures: Family Movies in Atlanta This Summer

As summer rolls in, families in Atlanta are gearing up for those long, hot days with plenty of activities to keep the kids entertained. What could be better than enjoying a film in a cool, air-conditioned theater while experiencing beloved stories from Disney, Pixar, and more? Thankfully, local theaters around Atlanta are easing the financial burden of summer outings by offering an array of family-friendly movies at incredibly low prices, with some even being free!

National Chains Bring Budget-Friendly Flicks

Four major theater chains are committed to bringing affordable movie entertainment to families this summer. Each has its unique offering:

  • AMC Theatres: Their Summer Movie Camp is a hit, with tickets priced at just $3 for both kids and adults. Enjoy family-friendly films every Monday and Wednesday at various times, running from June 22 to August 12, 2026. Multiple locations across metro Atlanta are participating.
  • Regal Cinemas: The Summer Movie Express provides a fantastic deal with tickets at just $1. From June 1 to August 13, 2026, kids (and adults!) can enjoy films every Monday to Thursday. It’s the perfect way to beat the heat while embracing some cinematic classics.
  • Cinemark: Their Summer Movie Club House features tickets for $1.75 each, screening family favorites on Mondays and Wednesdays. The series runs from June 1 to August 6, 2026, making it an accessible option for families.
  • Marcus Theatres: For just $3 or a Series Passport for $15 that brings the cost down to $1.50 per movie, families can witness 10 films over 10 weeks from June 7 to August 13, 2026 at locations in Tucker, Roswell, and Suwanee.

Local Gems: Free or Nearly Free Movie Screenings

For those on tighter budgets or looking for unique experiences, Atlanta boasts a handful of local theaters offering free or incredibly cheap movie screenings:

  • Canton Summer Family Movies: This local theater offers movies every Thursday at just $1 each, with shows at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. from June 4 to July 30, 2026. Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. on the Friday before the show, making it a must-try experience!
  • FREE Movie Mondays at the Wadsworth in Newnan: Every Monday from June 1 to August 3, 2026, families can enjoy free movies along with complimentary popcorn and water (while supplies last). This engaging series also includes film screenings that feature interactive special activities.

Why This Matters: Connecting Families Through Cinema

These deals showcase the importance of affordable family fun, especially as summer can quickly become a costly affair. Movies have a way of bringing families together, sparking conversation, and creating memories that last a lifetime. As prices rise for other summer activities, it’s vital to seek budget-friendly options that allow for quality time without financial strain.
